Nissan Motor to boost UK plant capacity to meet demand for Qashqai car
TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Nissan Motor Co Ltd said it will spend 2.4 mln stg to boost the capacity of its assembly plant in Sunderland UK by 4 pct to meet rising demand for its Qashqai compact car in Europe. The expansion scheduled to complete in August will lift the capacity of the plant to 434 200 units a year from 416 000 and boost output of the Qashqai by 20 pct Nissan said.
