      Forget the owners manual, it will just tell you where the switch is and where the bulb indicator is. Get a repair manual, which you can buy in most auto supply stores, for GM 1997, or specifically for your sun-fire model. All questions will be answered.

      Your cruise control is most likely on your turn signal handle. Some cars have it on steering wheel though.
