how do i work my remote start for my pontiac g6?

I recently bought a ‘06 Pontiac G6 with the remote start option. The car did not come with a user’s manual and I forgot to ask how to use the remote start button. I have tried pushing the lock button and then pushing and holding the start button. My info center does not have the option to turn on or off the remote start, or if it does, I cannot seem to find it. The fob works fine–the lock and unlock buttons anyway. I was just wondering if there was an easy way to fix the problem.
