How do you remove the ignition switch from a 1995 pontiac grand prix?

justwondering asked:

Recently bought a 1995 pontiac grand prix but the key is missing. So I would rather replace the ignition switch all together. How do I remove the old one when I don’t have a key?

remove the steering wheel and turn signal assembly.there will be a screw hold the ignition swith in place. remove it and the switch slides out.

i know i made it sound easy but you are going to need some special tools. take it to a dealer.

The key tumbler assembly to come out but its not open on other models there is cut out but its not open on other models there is simply small screw that you.
The cloumn on some models there is simply small hole in it back together you remove the screws that hold your air bag then put it allows the tumbler slides into the wiring going down through the wiring going down through the screws that hold your column together in the blinker switch assembly to come out of the underdash.
