What year did Pontiac quit putting pontiac motors in the trans-ams, firebirds, formulas,?

Philip W asked:

I have a pontiac 400 motor and 400 turbo transmission, and I want to put it in a 82 to 88 style firebird, transam. I don’t want the smoky and the bandit style, I would like it, but too expensive. Any pontiac buffs want to help me out, I would apreciate it. Any feed back on how hard it would be to put this motor in a chevy based pontiac would be great too.

  • Does the 30th anniversary Pontiac Trans Am come equipped with an Ls1 engine?
  • What year did the Pontiac Firebird first have airbags?
  • How many miles can Pontiac Firebirds last before they start getting problems?
  • Will The Partnership Between Pontiac And BMW Prosper?
  • How much will Pontiac charge for these services?
  • Any one else highly disappointed Pontiac is out of business for good?
  • How do I listen for a bad rocker arm on a pontiac 403? How do I know what one is bad?
